information on 2 way radios?

me and a group of people are going on a trekk, we are going to be split up, and i am thinking about purchasing some radio’s or ‘walkie talkies’ for the trip. I dont want them too expensive, but want something half professional. Anyone got any information on the range etc…

Not sure where you are but here is a link to some reviews

They are a great thing to have off the beaten path, have a set of Motorola GMRS-2 range about 26 km ( 16 miles ) 1 set of batteries will last a full day, 2 if you don’t talk a lot.

i suggest the FRS type with the built-in GPS. that will not only allow you to talk but find the direction to the other party.
