Using a CB radio to communicate with two way radio, is it possible?

two way radio
Sulphide asked:

I’m a security guard and we use two-way radios for communication but I’m going to be getting a CB radio and was wondering if it’s possible to use it to talk to a two way radio. Like would it be the same frequency or the same channel as on the two way? Thanks.

probably not…. frequencies must be same and CB freqs are unique

most “two-way radios” like motorolas, FRS, GMRS, are either UHF or VHF frequencies. CB frequencies are considerably lower

Definitely not. CB channels are between 26.965 MHz (channel 1) and 27.405 MHz (channel 40). The majority of two-way communication radios use frequencies between 460 MHz and 470 MHz.

As the others have pointed out, CB’s use their own specific channels that you will not find in a two-way radio (but a CB is a two-way radio). Anyway, they are completely different frequencies. Also, the CB is an AM system. A two-way radio is FM. So even if they were the same frequency they couldn’t talk to each other.
