White Water Rafting For The Adventurous soul!
Bungee jumping, white water rafting, off-road motorcycling, snowmobiling–I have done them all! When? Whenever I have gone on a holiday. Why? Just for the exhilaration of doing something different and remembering it for long afterwards! You can never expect to see me idling away my time on beaches even during a vacation! Maybe if I share my experience of white water rafting with you, you will understand better!
Although the enthusiasm was in abundance, I really did not have a clue as to how to go about organizing such an excursion for myself. I also had to find out which months were most suited for this sport, the rivers which were safe for white water rafting, and how to go about getting a good guide for myself. The Internet proved to be my rescuer since it was filled with information about this most popular vacation sport. Additionally, I could tap expert resources for advice about my planned vacation. Let me tell you all about my vacation.
My fixed belief that the Snake river and the Colorado river were most suitable for white water rafting was dispelled when I learnt that the Western part of the Us was not the only stronghold of this sport; the Eastern and Central sectors also had a lot to offer! The rivers in New York, West Virginia, South Carolina, Maine, North Carolina and Tennessee were also available for white water rafting. This was great! I could go sightseeing as well as indulge in this adventurous sport at will! I could start from anywhere and end it elsewhere!
As for the months most suited for the trip, there were various factors that would decide the dates for me. Where was it that I wanted to go, the type of climatic conditions of that particular place, and my skills with white water rafting (amateur or expert?). It was a rule that novices should go when water conditions are calm, whereas experts could attempt high-water conditions. The season involving white water rafting lies between May and September.
Browse various guide companies on the World Web before you make your final selection of a guide. Take time to know all the outfitters, give a thorough perusal to their terms and conditions–then decide. The three things to be kept in mind before selecting a guide–are they safe, that is, do they give priority to safety above all else or not? What about their past record? Are they reliable? Have they always given customer satisfaction? Get the right guide, and you have got the trip made. Get the wrong one, you would rather not remember what happened!
The experience was groovy and will remain in my memories forever! I am waiting to go back! How would you like to make your trip memorable too?
